NBC Universal has signed a deal with Stan Rogow, Brent Friedman and Jeff Sagansky’s Electric Farm Entertainment for the domestic rights to their upcoming Internet SF series Gemini Division, starring Rosario Dawson, according to The Hollywood Reporter. NBC U also has acquired the rights to Electric Farm’s next scripted online series, the zombie comedy Woke Up Dead.
Sony Pictures TV International has come aboard to co-produce and distribute the two series internationally on mobile, broadband and traditional TV. Under the deal with NBC Universal Digital Studio, the 50 three-minute episodes of Gemini and Dead will run on various company Web sites, including NBC.com.
Gemini, eyed for a late-summer launch, stars Dawson as a New York cop who uncovers a global conspiracy involving the creation of simulated life forms that have assimilated into an unsuspecting population.

It may be April, but that didn’t stop Rosario Dawson from celebrating V-Day — albeit it was a very different kind of V-Day.
The actress was one of the many stars present at V To The Tenth in New Orleans over the weekend, an event founded by Vagina Monologues playwright Eve Ensler aimed at celebrating V-Day’s 10 years of ending violence against women and girls and to honor the women of New Orleans and the Gulf South.
“I think it’s really important to show what people never want to talk about, that there are tremendous atrocities happening in our own backyard,” Rosario tells OK! of the significance of the event. “In three years, so many people forget about what happened [with Hurricane Katrina]. Just even traveling around the Ninth Ward and then going to the French Quarter, people are going, ‘Where’s the problem, I don’t see it.’ Unless you get in a car and drive, you can’t see it.
Stars, including Kerry Washington, Ali Larter, Jennifer Beals and Amber Tamblyn, performed skits and monologues empowering women and shedding light on past cruelties. Rosario performed a moving piece about a Bosnian refugee who was repeatedly raped by soldiers, reducing the crowd to tears.
“I was blown away,” Ali tells OK! “I thought Rosario was incredible.” The performance was the least lighthearted out of all of the skits, ranging from feigned orgasms (Jennifer) to accepting how a vagina looks (Kerry).
“That piece is a really difficult piece,” Rosario says. “It’s such a heavy piece that there is no getting around it. Everyone always calls it the most difficult piece out of all of them. It’s very heavy, there’s no jokes in it, no laughs, there’s no relief. It just keeps getting stronger and harder until the end where it’s just hopeless. I was just glad that we got that out there and people came up and said it really touched them.”

“The Vagina Monologues” playwright Eve Ensler planted marsh grass in the moist ground of an urban wildlife refuge in New Orleans, saying it’s important America take care of the wetlands as one would a vagina. “We have to cherish it, nourish it, nurture it,” she said, her black sneakers muddied from traipsing through the Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge.
Ensler joined dozens of volunteers Tuesday to plant marsh grass in areas damaged by saltwater intrusion during Hurricane Katrina. She said it’s one way she wanted to give back to the Gulf Coast while in New Orleans this week preparing for the 10th anniversary celebration of V-Day, the global movement she started a decade ago to end violence against women and girls.
After helping to plant some of 10,000 marsh grass plugs Tuesday, Ensler headed to the Louisiana Superdome, where she will be joined this weekend by a host of big-name film and music industry stars for the two-day celebration. It begins Friday, and among those to attend are Jane Fonda, Jessica Alba, Faith Hill, Salma Hayek, Jennifer Hudson and Rosario Dawson. Other celebrities arrived early. Actress Kerry Washington came Sunday to prepare for her role in Friday night’s “Swimming Upstream,” a theatrical interpretation of the experiences of New Orleans women after Katrina and during its slow recovery.
“I am blessed to be doing this piece,” said Washington, who played Ray Charles’ wife in the 2004 film “Ray.” She also will moderate a panel discussion with young women to compare their lives and experiences to “find parallels and celebrate differences.” That panel, slated for Saturday morning, includes actresses Rosario Dawson, Amber Tamblyn and Ali Larter. “It’s really important to celebrate and highlight young women who are doing well and are aware of their power, their strength,” Washington said.

As some of you may have noticed we have begun to slowly but surely rebuild the gallery. If you did not know we were hacked earlier this year and lost a large portion of images. Since then we have been deleting old files and replacing them with higher quality versions which is why you will notice older pictures in the latest images feed. We thank you for your patience and understanding and again if any of you have images you once downloaded from our site and wish to share so we can add it again, we’d really appreciate it. Special shout out and thanks goes out to Danielle - also known as Dani Mac over at our forums - for sending in a whole CD full of photos in order for us to continue rebuilding. We really appreciate it!
Again the gallery is free to join, anyone can register so definitely go check it out!
While you’re at it, join our forums and talk to fans from all over. It’s had a slow start since being rebuilt but hopefully soon enough it will return to it’s large membership and constant interactions. It’s also free and from time to time we will hold contests for members only so definitely take a moment to join.
By the way, thanks to all your votes, Rosario now has a page on People.com’s celebrity central.
